{Freehand Friday} 12 Promises For Your Success.

In today’s world, it can be hard to believe in yourself. You might feel as though you have nothing to offer or are undeserving of things.

Well, I’m here to tell you, ‘ta hell with that’! You are worthy. You are capable. You are meant to be successful.

But along your journey of success, there are 12 promises you must make to yourself. And, guess what? I’m holding you to them.

Together, we’re going to show the world just how much ass you can kick by keeping these promises.

1. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll meet your goals.

Your success depends on you setting goals for yourself and meeting those goals. You’ll never achieve anything if you don’t have goals. When you establish these goals, work hard to achieve them. Remember, these should be reasonable goals. Don’t try to run a marathon with only one week’s worth of training.

2. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll learn from your failures.

You’re going to fail at something during your lifetime. It’s as inevitable as death and taxes. Your success depends on you perceiving your failures as learning opportunities. Every mistake, every failure, is an opportunity to learn. So embrace it!

3. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll try.

Your success depends on you doing even when you feel as though you can’t or shouldn’t. Even if you’re afraid you might do it wrong. If you never try to do new things, you’ll never be able to make progress.

4. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll take breaks when you need them.

Your success depends on you acknowledging overwhelming situations and taking breaks to alleviate them. Whether it’s to catch your breath or remind yourself that you can complete a task, it’s okay to stop and take a minute to build back your determination. If you don’t, you’ll quickly burnout.

5. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll do something you believe in.

Your success depends on you doing something that you know is incredibly important and needs to be done. Curing cancer, protecting youths from bullies, saving the environment: it doesn’t matter what you believe in, just believe in it.

6. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll set realistic expectations.

Your success depends on you having realistic expectations regarding what you can achieve. Yes, you can change the world. But no, it’s not going to happen overnight. Having really unrealistic expectations for yourself can crush your confidence. Without confidence you’ll never be successful.

7. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll stop putting yourself down.

Your success depends on you drowning out your negative thoughts and insecurities. Everyone says bad things about themselves sometimes in their head. If you let it become an every day occurrence, you won’t be successful. Instead, you’ll become your own worst bully. So quit biting your nails and calling yourself a stupid-ass. It’s unproductive.

8. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll stop procrastinating.

Your success depends on you getting shit done. By procrastinating, you’re setting yourself up for failure. When you have less time to do a task, you’ll rush and mess things up. That’s how you underachieve.

9. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll do things that are hard.

Your success depends on you not taking the easy route. To truly be successful, you must do hard things to prove to yourself you’re capable of taking on challenges. These challenges will be rewarding, even if you fail.

10. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll speak up for yourself.

Your success depends on you being your own best advocate. You have an opinion about your life, your work, and your morals. Speak up! Don’t just let your life happen around you. Take active role and be in control. This shows you that you’re capable of being a successful leader.

11. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll help others.

Your success depends on you being generous. Whether it’s with your time or your money, helping others will give you a better view of what you’re capable of. Remember, someday you might need help. Give it before you need it.

12. I’m holding you to your promise that:

You’ll celebrate your accomplishments.

Your success is based on achieving your goals. But if the only thing you celebrate is attaining those goals, you might never eat a piece of cake. So celebrate small milestones along the way to reaching your goals. It’ll build your confidence, making you feel more successful.
