On July 8th at 2:58am my nephew, Jackson Ryder, was born. At 6 pounds, 3 ounces, and 19 inches long, he’s the most handsome little man I’ve ever seen.
In honor of Jackson’s birth, here are three pieces of advice every person should embrace as they embark on life’s journey.
1. You don’t learn anything worthwhile when life is good.
It’s during the bad times when you learn valuable life lessons. These are the times you discover who you are and who your true friends are.
2. There’s an advantage in adversity.
It may sound cliche, but it’s true. When I think about some of the really bad things that have happened to me in this life, instead of having a pity party, I use the bad times to make an improvement.
3. The best times in your life will feature food and family.
Your fondest memories will be made with the people you love all squeezed around one table. Never pass up the opportunity to devour an entire lasagna while laughing with your family. One day, they won’t be there anymore.
